Tony has a lot of experience in the courtroom and in court. Erik continues to specialize in labour law and represents plaintiffs in wage and hourly class actions, discrimination, harassment and unlawful dismissal. Tony has served the Springfield community in many capacities, including two years on the City of Ludlow Finance Committee; six years on selectmen`s Board of Directors and one year as Chairman of the Board of Directors; and as moderator of the city. He is currently a board member of the Westmass Area Development Corporation and a corporate of the Mason Wright Foundation. Tony has been a judge for the Transactional Law Meet – New England Law School Region since the beginning of the program. Tony has earned a strong reputation representing individuals and families in times of crisis, stress and hardship. Since 1998, Tony has represented clients in family law matters (dissolution or divorce of marriage, custody, alimony, adoptions and protection orders), DCFS hearings and criminal defense (crimes, misdemeanors, DUIS and traffic offenses). Tony is regularly appointed by the court to serve as an ad litem guardian for children during divorce, custody, adoptions or other family law matters. Erik Dos Santos has litigated numerous class and individual lawsuits and has argued in superior courts, district courts, and the California Court of Appeals since 2016. He is also the author of appeals to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the California Court of Appeals. Bankruptcy, divorce and family law, paternity, custody and visitation, family allowance tax, criminal law, divorce and family law, white-collar crime, tax litigation attorney Dos Santos was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 2000 and to the Massachusetts Bar Association in 2003. Tony holds a B.A. from Boston College and a J.D. of the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he was co-editor of the Connecticut Journal of International Law. Tony and his wife live with their children in Jersey County, Illinois. When he`s not working, Tony enjoys being on all hockey tracks (fan, parent or coach) and at any outdoor activity. He is currently the Sports Safety Coordinator for Missouri Hockey and a board member of Twin Bridges Lighting.
In his spare time, Erik enjoys surfing, hiking, playing golf, traveling and playing with his dog. Tony is currently General Counsel for a local nonprofit that provides advice for all day-to-day activities of the nonprofit, including the development of affordable housing in Massachusetts and the United States. These properties often involve funding from multiple sources, including federal and state tax credits, soft debt, and grants from federal and state sources. He regularly acts as a local consultant to major developers proposing developments in and around the Greater Springfield area. Most recently, Tony was a local consultant for a proposed $800,000,000 casino project in West Springfield, Massachusetts.
