Morgan Wagner is studying social psychology and law at the University of Texas at El Paso. Morgan graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She is particularly interested in group interactions and how they affect a person`s experience in the legal system. The SRL team consists of a number of UNL graduates, law graduates, undergraduates, faculty members and affiliated researchers. Our team comes from a variety of backgrounds, disciplines and experiences, including experimental and clinical psychology, law, science and public policy. Most of our team members have earned or are working toward degrees in law and psychology (i.e. JD, PhD, or MLS, which is a Master of Juridical Studies degree). (2000) and Ph.D. (2001) from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the Law-Psychology program. Ricardo, M.A., is a doctoral candidate in the Clinical Psychology Program at Sam Houston State University. Her research interests include differences between evaluators and the quality of forensic evaluation reports, jury decision-making, public policy, and explanations of substance abuse.
Her clinical interests include court-ordered forensic assessments, treatment and assessment of sex offenders, and serious mental illness. Ava`s first PhD project involved analyzing eyewitness reliability assessments when statements vary in detail, time elapsed since the event in question, and context (podcast or courtroom).
Ava`s other research interests include flash memories for personally and collectively experienced events and the effects of substances on long-term memory. Her research interests include decision-making between plea negotiations, particularly the role of lawyers in plea negotiation processes. Ellen Reinhard, M.A., is a fourth-year graduate student in the clinical psychology program at Sam Houston State University. She graduated from Drew University with a B.A. in neuroscience and received her M.A. in forensic psychology from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. During her time with John Jay, she worked in the Psychopathy Lab, where she explored the role of empathy in behavioral support as well as the representation of psychopathy in a normative sample. His interests include psychopathy, antisocial personality disorder and personality disorders in a forensic population. She is also interested in the accuracy and use of personality measures for self-reports and clinical interventions.
Phoebe Kane, PhD student at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She plans to receive her master`s degree in forensic psychology in spring 2023. His thesis project will be an archival study of networks used in previous eyewitness research studies to assess alignment bias in laboratory experiments.
