Haub Law offers clinical programs to represent clients in the areas of criminal defense, disability and health law, environmental disputes, food and beverage law, immigration, investor rights and mediation representation. In these clinics, student interns represent clients who would otherwise not be able to obtain legal assistance in both litigation and transactions. Under faculty supervision, student interns handle all stages of litigation, from initial client interviews, case assessment and counselling, advocacy writing, discovery, fact-finding and settlement negotiations, hearings and trials. Students lead meetings and consultations with clients, prepare drafts and final documents, and oversee the execution of legal instruments. The Pace Women`s Justice Center provides free civil justice services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse so they can get on with their lives. PWJC`s civil law services are multilingual and include protection orders, custody and support, divorce, spousal support, powers of attorney and other adult planning documents. PWJC is a non-profit legal centre for Westchester and Putnam counties, helping individuals navigate the legal system and receive services related to divorce, custody, alimony, financial abuse, public benefits and housing. Through outreach activities and training programs, we raise awareness, educate the community, and train judges, police, lawyers, and social service providers on best practices when working with victims of violence. John Jay Legal Services, Inc. is a not-for-profit legal consulting firm that hosts and operates the clinical and outpatient programs of Pace University`s Elisabeth Haub School of Law. In our clinics, students provide direct legal representation and access to justice for clients on a pro bono basis while being supported by the clinical faculty. In our articling positions, students work with practicing lawyers and learn from them in a variety of articling tailored to their interests. These experiential learning programs offer students the opportunity to gain hands-on legal experience during their time at Haub Law. Our Family Law Unit provides free and comprehensive legal representation to low-income victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Westchester and Putnam counties. Lawyers help clients with a myriad of legal issues, including protection, custody and access orders, child support, spousal support, and divorce. We work with community agencies to assist clients with immigration, housing, counselling and safety planning.
Our volunteer and staff lawyers provide appellants with general advice and information on their legal rights, navigating the court system and referral lawyers. Services are accessible to everyone, regardless of financial means, race, gender, sexual orientation or immigration status. All services are free and confidential; Multilingual services available.
