In April 2020, the federal Coronavirus Relief, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) provided economic aid to students who qualified under U.S. Department of Education guidelines. Georgia Gwinnett College signed and returned the certification and agreement to receive $13,570,330 in CARES funding. GGC will use at least 50% of the total premium ($6,735,165) to support students who have been financially impacted by the transition from GGC to online courses. First-year students must submit official high school transcripts, including date of graduation and type of diploma; Transfer students must submit official transcripts without the “in progress” courses being published. Under state law, registration requires a valid vaccination certificate (Form #3231) or a notarized religious exemption statement (Form #2208). The vaccination certificate must be completed by the health authority or your family doctor. A valid Form #3231 must be marked with “Expiration Date” or “Full for School Attendance”. (A certificate marked with an “expiration date” expires on the specified date. A valid certificate must be submitted within 30 days of expiration.)
